In short

We collect the minimum we need to outfit your expedition — your email, your account, your purchase — and we never sell, share, or trade any of it. The Country Compass tool collects nothing at all.

In summary

Plain-language privacy.

A short readout of what we collect, where it lives, how we measure traffic, and the things we will never do. Full sections below for the exact terms.

What we collect
Email addresses you give us when you join a country waitlist, sign up for newsletter notifications, or create a portal account. Purchase metadata from Stripe when you buy a portal membership — last-4 of card, billing country, name. We never see or store your full card number.
How we measure
Plausible analytics — cookieless, no IP retention, no cross-site tracking, no personally identifying data. Aggregate page counts and referrers only. The Country Compass tool runs entirely in your browser — no rankings, no scores, no preferences ever reach our servers.
Where it lives
Account and form data lives in Supabase. Email lists live in MailerLite. Portal sign-in codes are sent via Resend. Payments are processed by Stripe. Each is named in §5 with the role they play.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We don't run Facebook pixel, Google Ads, or any retargeting trackers. We never make unsubscribing difficult — every email contains a working unsubscribe link, always.
Your rights
Unsubscribe at any time. Request a copy of the data we hold on you. Ask us to delete it. California residents have additional rights under CCPA. Reach us at privacy@globalexpatoutfitters.com.

§1

Who we are

Thryve Ventures, LLC, doing business as Global Expat Outfitters ("GEO," "we," "us"), operates two related properties: the editorial hub at globalexpatoutfitters.com and the Italy member portal at geo-italy.com. This policy covers both. Where a practice applies to only one, we say so.

Both sites are intended for use by United States citizens who are planning a move abroad. Data submitted through our forms, waitlists, and accounts is processed on the basis that the person submitting it is a US citizen. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the forms, waitlists, or accounts on either site.

For privacy questions, data requests, or anything else covered here, write to privacy@globalexpatoutfitters.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

§2

What we collect

The categories below are exhaustive — if it isn't listed here, we don't collect it.

We do not collect: phone numbers, home addresses, government IDs, biometric data, behavioral advertising signals, or any data from sources outside our own forms and our named subprocessors.

§3

How we collect

There are five collection paths. Each is named so you know exactly how data reaches us.

§4

Why we collect

For each category, the purpose:

§5

Who we share with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do use a small number of named subprocessors to operate the sites. Each has its own privacy practices; we contract with each to handle your data only as needed to provide the service.

We will update this list when a subprocessor changes. We do not share data with anyone not listed here.

§6

Where data lives

Your data is held in the following locations:

Some of these locations are outside the United States. We do not target users in those jurisdictions; the locations reflect where our service providers operate.

§7

How long we keep it

You can request earlier deletion at any time. Where we are legally required to keep certain records, we will tell you which ones and why.

§8

Your rights

Everyone — anywhere in the world — can do the following:

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising — but you have the right to confirm that in writing.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@globalexpatoutfitters.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request — typically by confirming you control the email address on file.

§9

Cookies & browser storage

The hub (globalexpatoutfitters.com) sets no cookies of any kind. Plausible analytics is cookieless. The Country Compass tool stores your in-session priority weights in browser memory only — nothing persists when you close the tab.

The portal (geo-italy.com) sets one essential cookie: a session token used to keep you signed in after you enter your one-time access code. This cookie is necessary for the portal to function and is not used for tracking. It expires when your session ends.

We do not run third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social-media trackers, or any other non-essential storage on either site.

§10

Children's privacy

Neither site is directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, write to privacy@globalexpatoutfitters.com and we will delete it.

§11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the sites evolve. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. For material changes — anything affecting what we collect, who we share with, or how long we keep it — we will notify subscribers by email before the change takes effect.

Continued use of either site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy. If you object to a change, you can unsubscribe or close your account before it takes effect.

§12
