In short

We outfit the journey with editorial work and, for paid members, a structured portal — not with legal, tax, or immigration advice. The Italy portal is a digital product with a 30-day full refund if you're not satisfied. Pennsylvania law governs.

In summary

What this site is, and isn't.

A short readout of what we provide, how purchases work, what you should verify, and the basics of the agreement. Full sections below for the exact terms.

What we provide
Editorial content — country guides, pathway overviews, frameworks, the Country Compass tool, Field Notes. For paid members of the Italy portal, a structured 7-phase relocation portal with workbooks, journey tools, and a member library.
What we don't provide
GEO does not provide legal, tax, financial, or immigration advice. Nothing on this site forms an attorney-client, accountant-client, advisor-client, or agent-client relationship.
Purchases & refunds
The Italy portal is a one-time purchase with five years of access. 30-day full refund if you're not satisfied — no questions asked. Single-user license; no resharing, resale, or republication of member content.
What you should verify
Verify all visa requirements, tax obligations, and legal procedures with qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdiction and with official government sources before acting on anything you read here. Rules change.
The basics
Pennsylvania law governs these terms. Disputes go to Pennsylvania state or federal courts. You can stop using either site at any time. We may update these terms; the effective date at the top reflects the latest version.

§1

Who we are

Thryve Ventures, LLC, doing business as Global Expat Outfitters ("GEO," "we," "us"), operates two related properties: the editorial hub at globalexpatoutfitters.com and the Italy member portal at geo-italy.com. These terms cover both. Where a clause applies to only one, we say so.

Both sites are intended for use by United States citizens planning a move abroad. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the forms, waitlists, or accounts on either site.

By using either site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the sites.

§2

Acceptance and changes

You accept these terms by visiting either site, submitting a form, creating an account, or purchasing a membership. The terms in force at the moment you take that action govern that action.

We may update these terms as the sites evolve. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. For material changes — anything affecting your purchase, refund, or account rights — we will notify portal members by email before the change takes effect.

Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms. If you object to a change, you can stop using the sites or cancel your account before it takes effect.

§3

What we provide (and what we don't)

We provide editorial work. The hub publishes country guides, pathway overviews, frameworks for thinking through a relocation, the Country Compass tool, and Field Notes essays. The Italy portal provides a structured 7-phase relocation workspace with workbooks, journey tools, and a member library. Content is drawn from research conducted at the time of publication.

GEO does not provide legal, tax, financial, or immigration advice. Nothing on either site, whether free or paid, creates an attorney-client, accountant-client, financial-advisor-client, or immigration-agent-client relationship. We are an editorial business, not a licensed professional service.

Verify all visa requirements, tax obligations, and legal procedures with qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdiction and with official government sources before acting on anything you read here. Visa categories close. Income thresholds move. Treaties get renegotiated. Always confirm a rule is still current before you rely on it.

§4

Account and access

Portal accounts are created with an email address. Sign-in is via a one-time access code sent to that email — we do not store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure; whoever can read your inbox can sign into your account.

A portal membership is a single-user license. You may not share your access code, sign-in link, or account credentials with anyone else. Suspected sharing may result in account suspension.

You may close your account at any time by writing to support@globalexpatoutfitters.com. We may suspend or terminate an account for violation of these terms, fraudulent payment activity, or attempts to abuse the platform. Where we terminate for cause, we will tell you why.

§5

Purchases and memberships

The Italy portal is sold as a digital membership. Pricing and the membership term in effect at the time of your purchase are shown on the checkout page and in your purchase receipt.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered into Stripe's secure checkout; we never see or store your card number. Stripe sends us a receipt event containing your name, billing country, and the last four digits of the card.

Prices are shown in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout where required. You are responsible for any taxes, fees, or charges imposed by your card issuer, bank, or jurisdiction beyond the price displayed at checkout.

The Italy portal membership is a one-time purchase. Access begins when your payment clears and continues for five years from the date of purchase. There is no auto-renewal and we will not charge you again. After the five-year access window ends, the membership terminates and access to portal content stops.

§6

Refunds and cancellations

30-day full refund. If you are not satisfied with your Italy portal membership for any reason, write to us within 30 days of your purchase and we will refund the full amount you paid. No questions asked.

To request a refund within the 30-day window, email support@globalexpatoutfitters.com from the address on your account. Include your order number from the Stripe receipt. We process refunds within 10 business days of receipt; Stripe and your card issuer determine how quickly the credit appears on your statement.

After 30 days, refunds are not available except where required by law. You may still close your account at any time after the refund window; closing the account does not generate a refund of the membership fee.

Chargebacks initiated through your bank without first contacting us may result in account termination. Please reach out to us first — we want every refund request to be handled directly.

§7

Acceptable use

By using either site, you agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate access for any breach of these acceptable-use rules. Serious or repeated breaches may also result in forfeiture of any refund you would otherwise be entitled to.

§8

Intellectual property

All content on both sites — including text, design, photography, illustration, the cartographic visual system, the Country Compass tool, the Italy portal workbooks and journey tools, the Field Notes essays, and the GEO and Global Expat Outfitters marks — is owned by Thryve Ventures, LLC or licensed to us, and is protected by US copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property law.

Free hub content. You may read, link to, and quote short excerpts of hub content with attribution. You may not republish, redistribute, or use hub content to train AI models without our written permission.

Paid portal content. Your membership grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use portal content for your own personal relocation planning. You may not share, redistribute, resell, sublicense, modify, or create derivative works from portal content. You may not use portal content as input or training data for any AI or machine-learning system.

Workbook entries you create. Anything you write into a portal workbook or journey tool belongs to you. We hold it on your behalf in Supabase so the membership functions; we do not use it for any other purpose. See the Privacy policy for details.

§9

Third-party links and services

Both sites link to external resources — government portals, news sources, partner sites in the directory, statistical agencies, and other reference material. These links are provided for your convenience. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites.

The sites depend on third-party services — Supabase, MailerLite, Stripe, Resend, Plausible, Hostinger — each of which has its own terms and privacy practices. We choose these providers carefully but we cannot guarantee their uptime, security, or behavior. Each provider's terms apply to your interactions with their service.

The Directory page lists organizations and professionals we believe may be useful. Listing is editorial, not an endorsement; we are not party to any contract you enter into with a listed provider. See the Directory policy for our vetting and complaint process.

§10

Warranties and disclaimers

Both sites are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted availability.

Specifically: we do not warrant that any visa pathway described will remain open, that any income threshold described will remain accurate, that any rule described will remain unchanged, or that any factual claim drawn from external research will remain current. Verification with qualified professionals and official sources is your responsibility before you act.

Some jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the above disclaimers apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

§11

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thryve Ventures, LLC, its members, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, relocation costs incurred in reliance on site content, or any costs arising from a visa denial, tax assessment, or immigration outcome — arising out of or related to your use of either site.

Our total aggregate liability for any direct damages arising from your use of either site is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid us anything, our total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of the claim (contract, tort, statute, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

§12

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of either site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.

§13

Termination

You may stop using either site at any time. You may close your portal account by writing to support@globalexpatoutfitters.com; we will close the account within 10 business days.

We may suspend or terminate your access to either site, or close your portal account, for any of the following: breach of these terms, breach of the acceptable-use rules in §7, fraudulent payment activity, chargebacks initiated without contacting us first, or actions that compromise the safety or experience of other users. Where we terminate for cause, we will tell you why.

Termination does not by itself trigger a refund. If termination occurs during the 30-day refund window described in §6 and is not for cause attributable to you, we will issue the refund per §6. If termination is for cause, no refund is owed.

The clauses that by their nature should survive termination — including §8 (intellectual property), §10 (warranties), §11 (limitation of liability), §12 (governing law), and this §13 — survive termination.
